I had some traps to check on an ADC job a couple days ago. I Had set them the day before on a good sized creek that had been trapped last fall but was told one beaver had eluded the previous trappers efforts. I decided to stop and fish a smaller stream for brook trout before checking my sets. I caught 5 but only kept these 3 before continuing to the other creek. One of my castor mound sets had this 53lb male . No more action since, so I'm done
here till more move in. The creek i was trapping on is managed for trophy brown trout with min.size of 18 inches and limit of one a day. I much prefer eating the smaller brook trout caught on the other creek. [Linked Image]

It was a fun day mixing the fishing and trapping into an enjoyable day.

That's great when you can get two birds with one stone.
