Good morning all of you adventurous Guys and Gals. I have finally came to a resting point... well, not exacting resting, but I do now have a home. It is not a new house, but it is older than I am and that is saying something for it, and I think I will be happy here... at least for the time being. I may look for a newer one in 5 or 10 years. I was trying to change my address and phone number and where to put my new email address as soon as I get one, but unable to locate the place for them. If someone will kindly help me here would appreciate it. I have bought a small 125 year old home in Northern Noble County, Ohio. The once a thriving little town is now like a lot of places, just a cluster of houses. But it does have a historical connection to my McLaughlin side of the family. The town, is Ava. The historical references to me is that my 2nd great grand uncle, Levi Glover was the man that founded it in 1873. Further significance is that my father, my grandfather, and my 1srt Great Grandfather were all born here. Of course, it wasn't an established town when great grandfather was born here. My 2nd GGF and 1rst GGF are buried here in the little cemetery, Halley's Ridge Cemetery. I believe the land my house is sitting on was once owned by Levi Glover. I am hoping to be able to do research into the land records to find out exactly where it was they all lived and maybe even help get some of the pride and knowledge of the town revived. Every time I cross a little creek, I want to jump out and see if there are any muskrat or mink tracks. But, I no longer any traps left. I had saved enough trap and equipment so I could at least do a little in the future if I want or to maybe teach a youngster or 2... But the people that were supposed to pack those items to the storage I guess didn't think they were important enough. Well, I have rambled enough for now. My address is 50777 Marietta Rd., Cumberland, Ohio 43732. It is in Ava, but mail goes through Cumberland, I guess. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2026/04/full-8541-291090-50777_marietta_road.jpg) Tight Chains my friends.... Thats a dandy looking house Garry. Glad you got settled in. The family connection is awesome too. In case you havent heard the mink market took a big jump with rat prices to follow soon. Chance to make some good coin even with small catches from hobby lines.

You have bounced back well from losing everything Yes Sir, I guess you can say it is some times handy, to loose everything you worked your whole life for. You don't have find a place to put all of it, but it will drive you crazy when go to look for a tool that you now need, and no longer have one. So, I have to be selective in what and why I buy something new. First there must be a definite need for it and second, do you have money to buy it. I am now very selective and try to buy things I can use for multiple purposes, and if it something is a must or call a plumber of electrician... rethink it and maybe go a different route. That has been my whole life. Doing with what you have whether that is what it is made for, or it just so happens it will work for some other purpose. I THANK GOD everyday for the ability to use not only my mind but hands to get things accomplished. Take Care, Garry-

that looks looks like a fine house to me
my criteria for a good house might not be the same as everyone's
no leaks , decent heat , reasonably decent air a shower , toilet , sink and working stove.
not in eminent danger of burning down from highly questionable wiring
and not too many mice.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Thank You all for your good wishes. I believe we have to try and deal with what we are handed. So, I bless you all and pray the Good Lord watches over each and everyone of you and your families. Families are important in most cases of our lives... and it is hard to believe this until there are all gone.
I will pop in every once in a while, maybe someday I will have something positive to add to the conversation.
God Bless and pray for all of you to have tight chains this season.

Nice house, getting a few traps shouldn’t be too hard.
I see that large star on the left side of your door and I see that here and there around the country and always wonder what that signifies.
