Are you guys seeing a crazy amount of ticks in your neck of the woods?
I would have thought that our winter weather would have been enough to kill off a goodly amount,,, but wow.
And it seems to be the tiny ones too.
I never really messed with any kind of bug spray to keep them off,,, but this year is going to be different.
I honestly don’t believe I’ve ever experienced this many ticks.
Luckily none were attached… and this whole alpha gal thing those ticks carry ,,,is absolutely scary to a carnivore.

Is there anything that keeps them off ?
Glad she's white colored, helps with the tick search .
Mostly little ones on her.

We haven't had rain in 5 weeks and counting. Northern part of the state has. I've found if it's dry ticks aren't as bad.

LOL. More like 20-30 a day here on our dogs.

Gotta find a way, a better way, I'd better wait

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you

Find a water base permethrin, the regular premise spray has a oily smell that lasts...Sawyer brand is the main one but expensive, found a gallon ready to spray for about half on Amazon...

My wife has a friend that lives in St. Louis and has all her life. I was laughing yesterday because her dog had a tick and she was upset and took it to the vet.

yeah, its been terrible, I'm out in the woods pretty much everyday.
So far I have had 1 tick.

To be honest thats about typical for me, usually get one every spring.
I've got lots of work to do in the woods in addition to morel hunting in the next month or two.
If I get another tick it'll be a record spring for ticks for me.

Gotta love prescribed burns in the woods.

It was 15 degrees this morning, so the ticks are still slow. When I trapped in the spring I would have 10-20 a day crawling on me and the dog would have 30-60 at the peak.. I would have a couple bit on pretty much every day. When I would get in the PU in the morning there would be four or five crawling around in side it. You are not going to die if a tick is crawling on you or bit on. The secret is not leaving them bit on for a couple days. I did spray my cloths too and it helped.

Winter weather don't kill them here anymore. I see more in the Winter than I do in the Summer.

Dog ticks don't bother me, we've had them here forever, deer ticks invaded some years ago and cause problems but usually only if they're attached at least 24 hours,,,it's the lone star ticks that scare me, can affect you at the moment of attaching and they're quick to do it...Alpha Gal syndrome is real and I'd rather not eat fish and chicken the rest of my life...

Thank you.
I'll check it out when I get back to town.
First thing I think about when she jumps on my furniture and bed.

Had problems with spiders and ticks. Dumped a whole bottle of 10% perm with water in my food plot sprayer and did my lawn. Off the paved roads, country. Haven't found a tick in 4years.
