Anybody had a cochlear implant? Did it work?
Mine is scheduled for 4/27. My hearing loss is worse every month. Driving me crazy. Don’t like to be around groups of people, especially women and children. Tinnititus is bad. Ears feel like there is pressure inside. High frequency loss.
Hearing aids don’t help much. For every problem they solve, they create another.

Some friends of mine's daughter was deaf and can now live pretty normally thanks to cochlear implants she had as a baby. She has had issues with her growing and several infections centered on the devices. They put new implants in occasionally.

My daughter who has been mostly deaf all her life just had one put in. She is 58 and had a little hearing in one ear so has had a hearing aid since 3 years old and was losing that hearing, she hears things now she has never heard before. They are still fine tuning it as she has only had it for a month.

trapNH , after all the negativity you hear about modern Medical things, that is good news. I have the ladder thing bolted into my back 25 years ago and that is working well for me. Good news is always welcome........jk

I've been thinking of getting one for my left ear which has severe hearing loss. I have the cross technology hearing aids which help but still not ideal. Group gatherings or crowds are especially difficult. Keep us informed on your progress please. Good luck.
