I am looking for the best pneumatic or even manual machines that can bottle 2oz and 4oz jars of petroleum based lures and is also capable of jarring 16 oz. Grinded meat - paste bait consistency in 16 oz. Containers.

Can anybody recommend a particular make and model that can do this

Or if anyone that is using something like this to help jar/container trapping baits and lure - share the information where I can purchase a Machine that works for this.

Thank You

I would be surprised the markets big enough for one lure line( or ten) to have a bottling machine. We lines up jars/ bottles
Poured in lure,, scooped in baits

Work hard play hard

Yeah that’s what I’ve been doing but looking at opening my own trapping bait and lure company and wanted to see if there was something out there that could help speed up the process. Been making a coyote bait and raccoon DP bait along with a marten and fisher lure for several years Had several people testing it and got excellent results got more trappers that use social media using the baits this year in an attempt to make some Sales. I only make small batches and the baits won’t be ready until early fall but trying to get some customers before a make a big batch.

I thank you for your reply!

I've seen some makeshift things put together by others who sale lure and bait. Not quite a bottling machine but speeds the process up. Maybe someone will share some of their homemade tricks.

I saw where one individual used gravity feed. Had a spigot valve and would open it and close it for it each bottle. Was a thinner lure.

If your petroleum-based lures are warmed into a liquid for your formulations take a look at stainless steel pancake batter dispensers. There's 40oz one on amazon for $20 that also has a no-drip valve.

Conservation begins on the trapline.

For paste type lures I put it in a half gal or gallon zip lock bag depending on volume and cut a hole in the corner and squeeze it out like a cake decorator.

Look to small scale jelly/jam bottling equipment.

Seems like you could do something and make something pretty handy out of a sausage stuffer.

LOL

Plenty of lure makers on here and no one wants to reveal secrets !

I've often wondered how they get the lures into the bottles.

Thinking about it one of those fat caulk guns for making jerky would probably be pretty handy for filling bottles.

If you are needing to bottle thousands of bottles in a run with just a few products, a pressurized unit may work for you and pay for itself over time.

Gravity units won't work well with paste type products. Fluid type products may work well once you get it calibrated well.

Some bottling units say you can use high viscosity product in them however, they will usually require some heating / warming to keep the material flowable and workable thru the unit. There is warm up time needed to begin your bottling.

I have looked into several options over the years. When you consider their cost it may not seem like such a good idea. Then hopefully it will do what you want it to do.

Keep in mind when you switch to another product using a bottling unit, you will need to clean everything well. This is needed to prevent cross odor product contamination if you only have one designated unit to use.

We use spring release scoops for most of our bottling. They are available in "various sizes" and work well once you get on to their use. Easy to clean and minimum waste.

These scoops do most of our work for our bottling gal. I still bottle some, however our gal keeps us in good inventory. She can move along very efficiently and weigh each container to ensure accurate volume, particluarly on the larger volume containers.

Filling 8oz, 16oz and gallon bottles by how they look by "using your eye" to determine volume can fool you. It can settle over weeks sitting on the shelf.

Scale weight ensures accuracy and consistent volume. Some may not use our detail in bottling but that is how we operate.

When you check them at a later date they may have settled in volume. Tapping each jar firmly during your bottling process will help ensure a good job.

I am not sold on automation for heavy paste like baits and lures. If you get an air pocket in your "hopper fill" it can give you inconsistent volume results.

I use a ladle, funnel and plunger stick. It's labor intensive, but it works well.

Not a lure maker by any means but for the little bottles 1-4oz maybe a drip less refillable caulk gun.

X2 I use a canning jar filler funnel and a big spoon for paste baits as well.

Machines help some but are very expensive and usually take significant modifications to work with lures and baits. The good old fashion techniques listed by trapper friends above are the way to go unless you are really bottling a lot. Also with machines you have more clean up time and up keep. Herb and Asa had cleaver techniques that took me years to find a more productive way. Some of the machines on Amazon and Ebay running several hundred to several thousands dollars will work with modifications, big problem is getting support and replacement parts. It is very cool when you get a machine working smoothly as it is quick, accurate and clean. Hope this helps folks.

You ought to drive up and help ADC decorate his baked goods. Lol
I'll probably join you, because I bottle beaver lure the same way.
