Used to get a big jar every spring from two old Polish farm brothers, we called them Bartles and James, cause James didn't speak much, lol

I'd give them eels to smoke, and I'd get the Horseradish and fresh strawberries...unfortunately the've passed on...

Don't rub yer eyes while you grind that stuff up.

Yep. We have a lot growing here. I got a dedicated blender just for the job!

Looks great!

I make some every year Newfox

No more blender for me. Grinder with fine holes. Comes out semi dry. Way easier on the eyes and lungs. Add vinegar and mix with spoon. Then jar! We love it

Processing horseradish root is kinda like skinning a skunk. Do it outside.

I prefer horseradish sauce to straight horseradish which I also like. But, I cheat and buy the sauce in the store.

You know you're old when you walk past a rest room and think, as long as I'm here........

I prefer prepared horse radish over the sauce, too much other stuff in the sauce (high fructose corn syrup, etc). Just ground horse radish, vinegar and salt in the prepared stuff.

Eh...wot?

Lugnut, ive never put salt in mine just vinegar and never had a problem.
Any reason for the salt or do you just add it for flavor

Sorry I didn't make it clear in my post Turtledale, I don't make my own, it's all store-bought. It comes with three ingredients, horse radish, vinegar and salt.

The horse radish sauces I've looked at and tried have a whole bunch of stuff in them that I'm not interested in eating even though some of them are very tasty.

Eh...wot?

Rita's Fresh Horseradish from 1,000 Islands River Rat Cheese is the best store-brand I've found. It's hot, and stays hot for a long time after cracking the jar
