So how's everyone go about it ? Like year round? We've gotten decent at sprouting them but we get a our 75% die off once we put em in the dirt

I don't do it like they say to. I just put the flat out on the porch for maybe 6 hours the first day.... in shade. Then the next day I'll leave em out most of the day but bring them in at night. And do that for a couple more days.... they should get some sun, but not full sun. After that I'll put them in the full sun for a day or two, maybe moving them to the shade in the afternoon when it gets super hot, if I remember, LOL.
I think what's more important is WHEN you put them in the ground. Do it in the evening, not the morning, and water them WELL when you do. If you can plant them a day when it's supposed to rain the next day.... so much the better.
Gotta find a way, a better way, I'd better wait
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you

Before you plant outside, set your trays of plants outside during the day. Take them in at dusk, so the cold temps doesn't hurt them. During the day the sun, is giving them strength, plus the wind makes them react to it, and will strengthen the stems. It shouldn't be more than a week, I do it less, but know the plants, and the temperature that's coming over night. Sunshine and fresh air strengthens the plants, hardens them.

They don't have roots spread out to gather moisture until they're pampered for a few days. I get complaints that the seedlings die, and know right away, they weren't watered enough.

If you can plant them a day when it's supposed to rain the next day.... so much the better. This exactly. Set them out late in the day with lots of water. Back in the day of the evening paper the saved newspaper sheets would get tented over the plants for a few days.
