Who has one and do you like it? Please state brand. Looking to update fridge for wife and I. We are getting older and binding over to reach things way back isnt easy.
I know their expensive,but are they worth it?
Just needing a basic model. Ice and water maker aren't needed.

I do. 2nd one. We spend more time in the fridge than the freezer. It makes sense.

Fridge on top, freezer bottom. Ill never have it any different. I have an Amana , product of Maytag. . Light cream colour , no ice maker, as you stated. I bought the matching propane cook stove . A perfect set for my kitchen.

Nice controlled humidity lower trays for veggies or fruit. Lots of shelves and inner door space. The freezer holds a lot too. When I need more freezer space, I have a big chest unit in my barn.

You'll love your new fridge, Sarge. I sure do with mine.

If bending over isn't for you I would not get a freezer on the bottom.
Most freezers have meat in them and this you'll be pulling out all the time.

Me and my wife settled on a side by side and don't use the bottom shelf on each side for much

The cold air drops, heavy things stay down low, fridge gets used several times a day much more than the freezer gets used, its much easier to see and not bend down ot axcess or find thing that got pushed to the back.

My freezer is on top but the next one will be on the bottom if I buy a fridge freezer combo.

But im likely to buy a fridge or freezer that you can pick what you want and use it as a fridge becuse I have a family of 5 with 2 teen boy's. We go through the food and need fridge space and up have 2 other upright freezer and dont need a small one on the fridge.

I had an LG and then a GE. The LG we had was known to have issues but they came out under warranty and fixed it. A lot of those companies doing that service for them had trouble getting paid and it was difficult to get someone to come do the work. I have had problems with the GE one too though. Nothing major it iced up and burned a fan up. The cooling for the bottom freezer drawer is behind the back panel in the bottom. So getting the panel out and de-thawing it was as far down and back as you could go.

We actually have an accessory drawer in between the fridge and the freezer. Its a drawer for lunch meat, cheese, and stuff. Its own temp setting. Its pretty handy too. The right door being a trick door is pretty handy too. I would get another GE.

If you buy stainless try to finger it up at the store to see if it leaves finger prints bad or momma will complain about having to wipe it down all the time.

When we moved, we got two new frig-freezer combos. Both are Frigidares. The kitchen one is a side by side with water and ice and freezer on the bottom. The garage frig is smaller and has the freezer on the top. I keep my smaller containers, of jams, frozen fruits etc. in this one.

We also have chest freezers for most of our frozen foods.

We got one during covid, because the side by sides where weeks out.
We like it, and got one without water and ice thing.

Had 2 of them before and that's what went out first. Ice/ water door.
We got good tap water anyway.

I have a samsung fridge on top freezer on the bottom. I like it.

Freezer on bottom/fridge on top in our kitchen. Whirlpool.
We both like it.

Maytag- Fridge on top/freezer on bottom.

Wife didn't like the side-by-side because there is no space. Got a frig on top freezer below. The one she wanted was a bit taller than the space so I had to pull the cabinet overhead and move it up 3 inches. Ours is a Whirlpool and we like it.

Freezer on the bottom. Stay away from LG!!! ours was still under warranty when it crapped out and after 3 attempts and 2 months they gave up and we had to buy a new fridge.

That's good advice right there. Everyone I know that owns an LG frig/freezer has had nothing but continuous trouble.

I like the fridge on top but a short woman I know likes it on the bottom as she can see in the fridge better.
