So how would that look? Would citizens be willing to pay higher prices for gas produced nationally instead of globally? Or, would consumers pressure corporations to sell their product for a lower price than they could get on a global market? Or, would government mandate that they do?

I agree with you there. My opinion is that short of a revolution that will likely never occur, this country is toast.

Purely speaking and looking at it from the point of evidence not ideas. Lot of countries have ideas of expanding especially our enemies which if they get bigger they get more powerful. I believe its a much bigger game than most of us can understand. But you have some great points on some things that we need to work on in house to make us stronger but we can't ignore one front to just focus on another

The epa is a huge reason we have not built new refinerys from waht i have read. Add in envirmental groupd impact studied they get tied up in court for years. Its expensive to do business here and easier to do it in other countries. So they do.

When Iran runs out of places to put the oil they will have to shut down wells. When that happens it is not something easy to restart and if the do production never gets back to the same level if at all. At least if what I read is accurate. I personally lnow nothing about oil wells maybe somone here can confirm if that is correct?
