Yes, it's petrified. It appears to be a Cottonwood limb or trunk due to the bark on the outside. We have millions of them in Alaska. Even the inner wood pictures look exactly like a Cottonwood tree. I cannot see anything that does not look like a Cottonwood tree either. My guess it's a trunk, as that gets the bigger bark like that in your pictures. If it's from a limb, it was really big, thick and really old. I say a trunk. Should be more pieces nearby. Cottonwood will break up into pieces just like you have too. You can see the fibers of the bark in your pictures.
