After last Sat, Sun, and Mon AM I thought it was going to be a little tougher this season. Listened mid week and this first tom was gobbling a ton. Set up yesterday before light. Coyote 200 yards away was making all sorts of racket and the tom was gobbling at it for all he was worth. Lightly called twice while he was on the roost. Was 150 yards away but couldn't see him. He gobbled well over 50 times. Two hens flew down 25 yards in front of me. 5 Min later he flew down 80 yards away. The hens worked to the left, he came from the right, done at 6:15. 1" spurs

Since MO opened all day hunting I have tried a dozen or so times to hunt the evening with zero luck. Went out at 3:30. Plenty hot. At 5:30 this one came in gobbling quite a bit. 1 3/8 and 1 1/2" spurs.

Good going. Nice birds. If you know where there dusting, that's a good spot to set up at in the later afternoon time.

Nice looking turkeys.

I've tried afternoon hunting too, makes for a long day.

It’s been a pretty good season weather wise in Northern Missouri. A few rainy days, but overall good turkey chasing weather. Love those cool, clear mornings.

Afternoon hunting usually goes quickly.......once you hear one or get one to gobble. And the later in the afternoon...the faster it goes.....if you've done your fieldwork and know where & how to maneuver into position.
