AN EXCELLENT WILDERNESS ALASKA BOOK FOR SALE!

TEN THOUSAND MILES WITH A DOG SLED
By Hudson Stuck
This is an account of the author's travels throughout Northern Alaska, the Arctic Circle region, the Yukon River and Koyukuk River region in the early years of the 20th century. Travel was by dog team over near non-existent "trails" and on the frozen rivers. His story details the hardships of life on the trail, people he came in contact with, both native and trappers and miners from the States and Canada. He writes of the numerous roadhouses, near tragedies on the trail, and the communities he visited in conjunction with his line of work. The book was originally published in 1914. This edition was published by the prestigious Wolfe Publishing Company of Prescott, Arizona in 1988.
The book has 420 pages. There are numerous vintage pictures (many more than what I have shown here). This volume is in CLEAN, Very good to EXCELLENT CONDITION! This is an amazing look at wilderness Alaska and dog team travel in the early years of the 20th century. Worth reading!
