My 8 year old grandson wanted to trap beavers, so I bought some traps and we went and set them. We have had a lot of fun with 4 of my grandsons and my son. We have even managed to catch some beavers. I want to thank Big Sam for all the info and the lure he sent my grandson. We have caught 4 of our beavers using that lure. Our catch total so far is 22 beavers since mid April. We started out slow but have been picking up a few more now. My grandson has been very active in the whole process. He is even helping me while I skin them. He was adamant that we need to eat some beaver meat. I fried some up for him and I one evening and he loves it. I think it is great as well. Hopefully we have continued success in the last week of season.

Cook the beaver like you would for Pot Roast with all the fixings in the crock pot. You will love this recipe.

Or cook it in the crock pot in BBQ sauce, another excellent choice.

These are the two main ways I make beaver for dinner.

BBQ Beaver sandwiches the following day are fantastic.

The kids will love it either way.

Way to go Papa! Teaching the kids how to....is vital to us surviving in our crazed society.

Great pictures, Papa Dozer. It certainly looks like everyone is having a good time. In my opinion there's nothing better than getting the kids on the trapline. I'm glad I could be of help in some small way.

Remind me next year, and I'll send the kids a little more lure. The stuff you got was likely a touch dry, and I failed to notice before the first couple bottles got sent out. The boys also developed a second top secret beaver killing solution that I'm sure they'd like your grandkids to test out.

What a great success story. Twenty plus beaver in a season is nothing to sneeze at. Very respectable catch.

Beaver are fun to trap. Even more fun when it's with the grandkids.
Nice you took some photos. Great memories for you and them.
