We have an upright Pepsi cooler with the glass sliding doors. I’m going to take it to our place in Canada, 800 miles. I’ve heard you can lay them on their side for transport as long as oil lines are facing up and you let it stand upright for several hours before plugging it in. Does anyone have experience with this?

The old man was a refrigerator guy, said to NEVER transport laying down, except for brief trips, then let it set upright for awhile...the oil is in the compressor, so maybe one way is better than the other, but i think it's a risk for a long trip.

Let it stand up for a day and the oil will run back into the sump on the compressor

That’s what I have heard as well. But also seems to be as many on the other side saying just let it stand for a day b4 plugging in. It’s exactly an inch and a half too tall to stand up in my stock trailer.
