Hamburg,Delmonico,t bone, roast, cube steaks, porterhouse,we tell them what we want, and that there is only 2 of us. They put the hamburg in 1 lb packs, and 2 steaks in each pack and so forth. Small roasts, it works out great for us. We been using the same people for 15 years. We also split it with our son! It is in my opinion the way to buy beef!

Just picked up my half $1833.00 cut wrapped and froze for 390 lbs. Thats at $4.70 per lb.! Seems cheap to me: Our freezer has elk, bear and snow geese And I did the cutting and wrapping,,,, Even the 15 or so years we raised beef we kept a 1/2 he got butched small, knocked me to the ground and started bulling me, and 2 other quarters,,, and we swapped the best steak for cutting and wrapping
Work hard play hard

Got one at the locker now. Getting a 1/4. Live weight was 1600 pounds. The quarter cost me $500 and locker bill will be around $250. I am getting steaks, roasts, hamburger, heart and liver. 250 a quarter is a good price on processing.

It’s good to see beef prices almost keep up with wages for once

I just put my order in for 2-3 groundhogs. Free. Would trap them here like I did years ago but with the invasion of St. Louis here I got cats running everywhere. Always worried about Chinese meat. High gas prices might set back the invasion. I hope. There are some good people and some not as good coming from the city but there view are not even close to mine At my age if I want a steak I buy one. Family grown. Still come over for chicken kabobs use to be goose kabobs. I feel for you younger people and prices.

50+ years ago I worked on cattle ranches in Montana, all of the income came from cattle. But about that time rich people started buying up ranches! It changed ranching, you couldn't spend millions on a ranch and use cattle to pay it off. The son's and daughters had to change lifestyles because they no longer could afford the cost of their own property.
I wish for all of the old time ranchers to make a profit and be able to keep there ranches, The rich city people can go under, for all i care!

With the price of beef being what it is today, I'm really surprised that you don't read about more rustling going on. Even the cheap cuts aren't cheap anymore. It's still happening and the last 5 years it has been on the up tick. Just doesn't make the newe much. I just put my order in for 2-3 groundhogs. Free. Would trap them here like I did years ago but with the invasion of St. Louis here I got cats running everywhere. Always worried about Chinese meat. High gas prices might set back the invasion. I'm guessing WA meat in the store, comes from Canada. It is hit and miss but usually sucks
AZ, alot of beef comes from New Mexico ( Alberton/safeway). Good beef.
Beef can still be purchased on sale for great price in AZ
