Why do users here use one or two words like click bait to start a thread ? Is this typical of all forums? For me I just don't open them. In my opinion if you want advice or have something to offer why not make a decent title for the thread. Couple current examples: Beef, Nephew took care of me, Has anyone used one? Square or Round

click bait !!

That's the biggest metaphorical one yet.

Little ironic there. Which one you want to be the pot or the kettle ?

So criticizing it while being hypocritical, isn't that wise...

Do you think I worded the title that way by accident ? How about presenting a justifiable reason why it's done?

Almost all the titles are short like that because that's the way most people in the US do titles nowadays and before too.

Heck 1/3 of your examples is wrong. ! Plus you do know there is a character limit on the title line...

I agree with original post - often I wont open a thread if the thread title doesnt interest me. For example - Has Anyone Used One. I havent opened that. Now if they would have said Has Anyone Used Dogproof Traps - I would have opened it.

I MIGHT had had some great insight on the use of dogproof traps - but the original poster would never find out. In my case, a generic thread title is the opposite of “click bait”

I am don't live on social media like several users here and I would expect their reply to my thread to be exactly as they did. I use social media to learn about things rather than be entertained. If I want entertainment I sure as heck could find better places than social media. To learn you must click on a thread but when the thread title is not obvious as to what the subject is then I just move on.

That's how this works. Open a thread and see if you want to read it. If not, move on. It's just that easy.

Why don't you give a justifiable reason why you just did it. Comments three times in six hours, trying to learn Maybe you need a learing center.

Your thread is titled perfectly…..lol. I clicked on it and even scrolled to the bottom.
True though, I click on a lot of threads and hit the back button within a second or two……carry on to the next.
