Had a C4 to T1 Anterior Cervical Discectomy with Fusion today.

It seems to have went well. My shoulder muscles and chest is extremely sore.

But I feel pretty decent all in all.

But I do notice a slight difference in the feeling/sensitivity in my hands and fingers already.

Did it 6 months to the day after my lumbar surgery.

Between the knee replacements, 2 cages, 6 rods and 14 screws in my lower back and all of the spaces and plate that they added today I'm pretty sure I will be able to set off a metal detector the right way. Lol

I'm surprised that you're still in the hospital from what I understand is this is nearly a out patient procedure .

Compared to when they fused C4 C5 and C6 back in 1990 then in 1995 then the first time they kept me for 3 1/2 weeks , then in 95 was 3 days with a 6 months of wearing a cervical collar and the same in 95 !

My suggestion is to get a good quality electric razor which will be you're new best friend if they want you in a collar for very long .

Fallow the instructions from the physical therapy folks and start fly fishing was one of my therapy sessions !

The surgeon just stopped in, they're getting my paperwork done up so that I can go home.
