The action bar is off the railing on my 870 wingmaster and cant get it out of the back of the receiver. Should i go straight to a gunsmith?

Pull the trigger group out and reach inside and push the control bars in as you try to put the action bar back in. You will need to hold both side s in, one at a time. 870's are SUPER easy to put back together.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Agree with 160. In my waterfowl I shot a 12 gauge wingmaster to junk. One heck of a tool the 870 wingmaster.

If all of my guns disappear and I have to choose one gun for replacement, it would be an 870 Wingmaster. I still have the one I bought used in 1967 by mowing lawns and launching bots at the lake.

160 is spot on.

He shouldn't need to take the trigger group out. I think all he needs to do is push carrier down and push the shell stop in and slide should go forward.

I think it's a horse a piece between the 870 and Md 12. Both very reliable.

Make it easy on yourself, pull the trigger group out.

I have nothing clever to put here.

You have the best advise right here with 160. I have to agree 870 are easy to tear down and easy to go back.

Ended up pulling the trigger group out and killed a longbeard the next day.

Good to hear you got it fixed, and connected with a bird.
