Not necessarily. Lots of people can afford new vehicles, and buy them without much discomfort or going broke.

I have two Toyota 4x4's each with over 400k miles. My newest one a '99 I bought for $10,000, it had 65k when I bought it, it's still worth $5000. That truck has cost me 1.49 cents per mile to drive, I'll stick with older trucks for reliability and actual cost to drive

Working on the 1983 chevy k20 4x4, new stuff that's out there just don't
do it anymore for me.
Let alone the prices.
Newest vehicle we have is a 2018.

I at least need "four wheels and a seat", where's the seat?

I've drove old crappers my entire life. I bought a new one a few years ago and I'll probably do it till I die.
