I have planted an SE variety corn and a SH2 variety close together. One matures at 74 days and the other at 84 days. I never thought about it when i planted it but am now wondering if cross pollination would be a concern with these. Anybody ever had issues with it?

Should not be a problem.

I got two varieties too close together once and two similar in matulrity and the result was not good. Hope things work for you. I follow the recommended distances and I also spread my planting times, but more to have a longer season for my corn crop.

As long as they don't tassel the same time you should be ok.

Your going to be real close on there maturity dates. You mite want to think about side dressing your early variety to give them a little boost. The best way I found was just plant the same variety but at 10 to 15 days intervals. Depending on how much you have in the ground you can side dress with a pump up type sprayer and some rapid grow. Wait till there 8 to 10 inches out of the ground. Spray a steady stream 3 to 4 inches to the side of the stalks.

Not getting good germination on one variety of the corn so i'll probably just till it up and replant as soon as the ground is dry enough. It was just an oversight on my part. Thanks for the replies. ordered some trucker favorite corn seed yesterday to have to make fried corn with. I will for sure have to stagger it's planting time because it is a dent corn variety
