When using any of the mints a little goes a long way.

Ive used honey and like it. Nice and sticky, I mix about one part honey to three parts Castor

I make poplar bud oil myself and have used it mixed with castor and straight. If you have muskrat in you waters your sets will be gagged with them if set shallow. But good additive for deeper hind leg catches

The others I haven't used

Thanks Turtledale for replying. I'm gonna soak some castor in burgundy wine.

One thing I always consider when mixing any essential oil with castor is what nontargets will it catch. I’d muskrats are a welcome catch the sweeter type oils work well. Oils that may attract otter are another thing to consider. There are also some combinations that work better for predators.

Saw some cheap blackberry/vanilla wine in Piggly Wiggly yesterday. May go back and buy that for the 1st "official" castor test soaking.

I've used perfume/after shave with some success in a castor based lure. Some of the smells made for people have a lot of research, money and time put into them.

Swamp and others, I have used cinnamon and tried Allspice in a some homemade castor lures. Produced well but I really couldn't see a big difference in my catches.
AND like Todd and Turtledale mentioned, a little goes a long way as on a least one test batch I used TOO MUCH Allspice and my nose could barely detect castor odors.
I think I'll let the lure makers make my lures....lol
