I was prepping today for a skunk trapping demo next week at the Idaho convention and thought I needed to make sure of the availability of some traps I might recommend.

I was planning to briefly cover trapping with foot traps for skunks. I was going to suggest some double jaw traps and was surprised to find no one was offering any 1 1/2 long springs nor did I see any 1 1/2 stop loss. My hiatus in Alaska I guess made me fall behind in knowing what was available.

When did the trap makers discontinue the 1 1/2 long springs and 1 1/2 stop losses. I looked at several dealers and didn’t find any.

Trail cameras and fresh snow have broke a lot of trapper’s hearts.

That was always my main nutria trap back in the day. Sad.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

My old victor and Blake& lamb 1 1/2 stoploss are the first traps I reach for when marsh trapping rats. I bought some new Sleepy Cr.1 1/2
longsprings several years ago but like the old makes better. As long as I can continue trapping i will use the older traps first.

One of the best weasel kill taps ever made and could be used in the water for muskrats, mink and racoons. To answer Marty, - Weasels are less plentiful as wetlands disappear and the 110, 160 and 220 size BG's have become the versatile trap of the U.S. The 1.5 LS out lasted the common V rat trap in its durability (steel vs. wood) and I have a pile of cast jaw 1.5's I use in the water when I'm trapping from the boat. ..................... the (old fashioned) mike
