Has anyone tried making a lure base out of rotted down skunk meat w/emptied pods? Hopping into this as a hobby, primarily looking to experiment… I know oysters and fish are great in both baits and lures, what about bull frogs?

I know of one commercially produced lure that is rotted down skunk carcasses. Not sure if the pods are left on them but I would think they could only improve the base end product. If you do this, be sure you leave as much of the fat from the skunk on the carcass. I would also recommend removing the guts, head, tailbone and feet. You sould end up with a pretty fair start of a base product. The skys the limit after that. Good luck!
