I broke 80 frequently before I had kids 28 years ago. Now I'm happy to break 90. I've lost a bunch of distance. Hit it straight down the middle. Biggest problem is I don't play enough to score around the green.

All the time. I'm trying to break 70. 73 is the closest I've came. Always a bad hole or three.

….i shot 78 twice on the course that used to be in trinity… then some folk from California bought a lot on it and sued because their property line went into the fairway or something … got the redneck country club shut down

Yes. Used to break 80 when I was younger and playing regularly. I don't play nearly as much anymore, and I'm happy to break 90 now. That's bogey golf on a par 72 course, so that's not bad for a hacker. Strive for 5 and all that. I'm a decent driver and a good putter. It's usually the shots in between that make it or break it for me. Even if you don't crush the ball, hitting straight and staying out of the buckwheat goes a long way to get a decent score

Three puts destroy scores

Haven’t played in years but use to shoot in the high 70’s and low 80’s . I was one of those golfer that could play left handed or right, it didn’t matter both ways the score was the same .

I had a 4 handicap for several years. Took 12 years off from playing and getting started again. It's humbling, to say the least. I doubt I will ever break 90 again, judging by the way my last 3 rounds went.

Years ago my buddy worked at a country club in high school. I went and played a round with him. Shot an 85. But that was only 9 holes.

My best score in bowling was 158.
My brief high school batting average was .158.
I was a starter on all four high school football teams I played for at 158 pounds dripping wet with pads on.
If I was to ever golf for 18 holes, it would be my hopes and dreams to hit that 158 milestone...
