Under Canada's C-3 law I'm already considered a Canadian citizen, all I have to do is submit the paperwork and a $75 fee to get dual citizenship. Can anyone think of benefits or possible pitfalls of doing this? ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2026/06/full-51451-295035-1000007086.jpg)

Possible pitfalls? How about being Canadian. Gunna go ahead and guess you voted for walz Ide still be an American. I was so busy bussing Somalis to the voting station I almost missed voting entirely!

If you'd "still be an American" then what do you have against Canada???

Better dig a little deeper into C3. Marry someone here, that’s easy. Now getting dual citizenship for me with the US is a lot easier. I’ve come close, but there’s just too much I’d be giving up here. Most of my coworkers who ventured south came back within a couple years. The ones who found a good girl bring ‘em back up.

I doubt most Americans could fit in here or be able to handle the physical rigors of living here. Long cold wnters here would finish 90% of you. You need to be more self sufficient to live in the north, you have to be able to fend for yourself a lot more.

And make your living hanging from a saddle in a tree, run your own business!! My bet much tougher than most Canadians and Americans. I dont know what the up side may be but I dont see any downside as long as you dont need to renounce your US citizenship. That question is on the 4473.

My grandparents were born in Canada, i therefore am a Canadian if I ask for recognition. I would not have to renounce my U.S citizenship, I would be a dual citizen living in the states.
I could do things like Vote in Canadian elections and work in Canada

What province would you be a resident of? I'm not sure how Provincial residence plays into being able to trap marten. Trapping marten, currently, would be a good thing. Subject to change.

Do you want to be someone else's property?
