Somewhere like Thailand or tropical. Money will go further and healthier foods. Seems appealing and many people do it. Your thoughts?

On its face its appealing to me for financial reasons if i become disabled an unable to work . But im not going to learn a new language, like being armed, and want good neurological medical care available. I also dont like heat and humidity. I have kids at home as well and other countries education requirements may not lime up with ours.

If I were healthy and single and was ok with everyone i meet looking at me as a pay day maybe . I would need to do a ton of serious research first. It was something I thought about when my neurologist office brought up the topic of starting to think about the possibility of not being able to work. The boys would have a good time im sure.

Some places have good medical available in the big cities. But its also more expensive to live there and defeats the purpose of moving or reduces the benefits.

I’m kicking it around. Get a little place in Bahamas near beach. Pay cash. I’ll be down to such simple wardrobe then, just one small dresser with a few shorts and swim trunks, t-shirts, and a couple decent surf rods. grin

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I think you can also jump through the hoops and have some limited guns there as well.

Why am I seeing that episode of The Andy Griffith show where Howard Spraque moved to tropical island when he retired?

Depends on your financial situation and health among other things. In your situation of saving and investing for decades along with good pension. Absolutely not. Take a trip if you want to.

For someone that didnt save and invest as much if any and no pension.... got wiped out by divorce , ect. Its much more appealing penny pinch here or live more comfortably at least financially in another country.

A buddy of mine on a different forum retired and moved to Thailand. He gets by fine speaking English and medical care is not an issue. From what he says having American money goes a long way getting quality medical care.

That's all political bs and hatred. Not the same thing I'm talking about.

Not sure why anyone would wish to move away from a country that people literally die trying to get in to.
