I noticed that Menards near me has 20 foot lengths of 3/8 rebar for around 6.50.
I went and bought 5 stix to make trapping stakes for water sets.
I’ve been making no weld stakes for a long time.
3/8 rebar cut at 20 inches then a 1/2 inch nut pounded on.
That nut ain’t gonna move. And the more you use it, the more it mushrooms.
For the naysayers who say they don’t trust em without being welded,,, it’s not necessary.
I’ve held coyotes when double staked using the no weld stakes. Used em long before I finally switched to pogos for my coyote sets.
I prefer the rebar in my water sets because I can push em in the mud pretty quick when I’m running drowning rigs.
A little faster than filling up a sand bag…

that is exactly what all my stakes are my lengths vary from 16-24

I leave the rebar about 3/16 to 1/4 proud of the nut and yes the more it mushrooms over the more there is no way it could come off.

with the double stake plates you will have a hernia and opened up HD J-hooks before you pull crossed stakes

buying the 20s is generally only a tiny bit more than 10 foots sticks , most places buy the 20s and the cut them down to make everything else out of the bent ones

menards is 6.49 then if you do the rebates 11% back later.

I cut them down right in the parking lot

before the cordless angle grinder that generally meant a hacksaw or bolt cutters

with the cordless angle grinder it is less work

Putting the kayak rack on the soobie is too much work.
Real building centers cut em to length.
One place sells drops cheap.

I get all I need from construction site dumpsters
If you ask they will often put it outside the dumpster so I don't have to crawl in

I'm going to keep on welding my stakes. And I'd rather use a T Bar stake then one with a nut smashed on. Easier to push into the bottom and easier to remove.

I don't use a lot of rebar stakes, but I also prefer the T-bars.
