I didn't ask you how many are there. I asked what percentage of Americans do thu think could make it up there.
people don't settle up there because of the weather. It's the limited opportunisties

Under Canada's C-3 law I'm already considered a Canadian citizen, all I have to do is submit the paperwork and a $75 fee to get dual citizenship. Can anyone think of benefits or possible pitfalls of doing this? First,,you better learn to speak Pakistani to live there.Next,,you dont become a Citizen like you are here. You become a Subject.

people don't settle up there because of the weather. It's the limited opportunisties Unlimited opportunities here-Mines popping up all over the place. Canada Nickle just outside of town is set to employ several thousand in the next few years. When Detour gold mine re -opened the property values went up 40%. You know squat about this area obviously. Opportunity out the ying yang here so it aint that its about being able to handle the rigors of living here.

for me it would be interesting for border crossing to have dual citizenship as I understand it , it also would let us camp on some of the lakes my family used to visit but were told it was crown land for citizens only at some point. Someone’s feeding you a line of BS. But it’s probably best to pack up and move somewhere else depending on what area you were camping. Camping in some beautiful areas in Manitoba can get you into some real hot water with the locals, even though it’s legal. This was Ontario , it was a place a cousins family went all the time many years ago , I think the last time they went was just before they had to get passports. My family connection is from Lundar , Manitoba
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

My family connection is from Lundar , Manitoba I know quite a few folks up around Lundahar. Things are a little tense there, and on up Ashern way. I had no problems a couple weeks ago. So with the new law, you’re Canadian, you just don’t know it.

Good trapping oppurtunities, even registered lines, most trappers in Canada are too fat to get more than a couple feet off the trail. Competion is a US strength Canucks wouldn't have a clue. Pure BS,lol. I been to lots of NTA conventions, there are less fat people in walmart on a saturday than at the NTA,lol.Looked more like a sumo wrestler convention, lol.

There’s a learning curve for sure,of knowing how to dress for being outside in winter on a daily basis…I believe I could pass that test, I can work about anywhere and adapt to those conditions. Most folks that think they automatically could make it in the north, should just try 6 weeks in a logging shack eating venison and potatoes, hand bunching peccarpole spruce, and burning firewood.
I’m too old for that line of work, but hanging out in the absence of people is appealing. I still have the shack, and need to pull it near the valley of the beaver and just ponder for a while…I could do this….most of you just dream of being me…

If you have some money, you can buy yourself out of some of the discomforts of living in a remote northern area. Ain't much money can't cure.

Count me out , no reason to live in a frozen he'll.........I love the mountains, but like the wapiti, I'm smart enough to find an oasis in the low lands during winter.

I'll take 30 40 below in January over the 90s we experienced last week.
Plenty of Americans thrive in less than ideal conditions.
The reason many people are moving south is air conditioning. High humidity coupled with heat kills old people.
For.me the worst part of living too far north would be the lack of sun light.
