I've hunted Pa and Colorado. I would love to plant the cover they have. Oak brush and Mountain Laurel. Would love to plant it in Ohio. Any suggestions?

Plant switch grass. Better to work with nature than against it.

The stuff in Colorado is adapted to a high elevation dry climate and long periods without moisture, it doesn’t rain a lot in the summer in Colorado. I don’t think it would like the humidity and summer gully washers you have in Hoco. It might grow but I doubt it will prosper. Switchgrass and early successional native pine trees will be your best bet especially for winter cover after the corn is chopped. I have several sugar, red and silver maples in my yard, all natives to Ohio, and you can hear them screaming in pain during the dry heat Oregon summers. Without constant water they don’t have a chance.
