Some of us honkies still out working today. If I remember correctly there was a black person on tv saying this holiday was not meant for whites anyway. We were supposed to be out working in the fields today according to them.

Texas was not again part of the Union of States of the US until 1870. It doesn't make good sense to make a Federal holiday for an event that didn't occur in the country making it a holiday. The point of the holiday is to keep the wound of slavery picked open and still bleeding, so blacks vote democrat.

Black people need to remember democrats were the ones who supported slavery and Republicans ended it.

It’s all about the three day weekend in June…exploiting black folks so that mostly white government employees can have a holiday in June…it’s almost racism…

I'm cash broke now, forgot it was a holiday and couldn't run payroll, had to hand out hundreds. There goes the fun money.

The way I figure it is we need more federal holidays to catch up with the rest of the world that have more paid holidays than we do.
