Best trapper that was not gay?
Jim Comstock..... My vote . I know jf lost a lot of money not following his lead.

I certainly miss Arnie Peterson aka the Jack Pine Savage ! Always had a well thought out answer for a particular situation. If he didn’t pick up the phone he definitely returned the call.
Sense of humor and a huge supporter of youth trappers !

You'd almost have to make it a regional thing. Some hot shot coon trapper from Iowa might not hold a candle to some hot shot cat trapper from out west; or vica versa.

Sense of humor and a huge supporter of youth trappers ! Yeah, Arnie could run circles around men half his age and he sure racked up the fur, especially weasels. He was a prince of a guy too.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I remember riding the school bus to a buddy's house, and seeing Arnie jogging down the road with a decent sized beaver on his shoulder. I would guess he was in his late sixties at the time. Heck of a trapper and a heck of a good guy.
