I saw a live trap yesterday that was made by a company called South main manufacturing.
It had a drop door made of some really strong plate metal.. to keep the door closed, it had like a little prong on the bottom that kept it shut.

It looked to be well used,,, and probably had been around awhile.
Didn’t think to take a picture of it.
But I wrote down the name that was on the trap.
I tried googling it and couldn’t locate any company by the name. Probably long out of business now.
First time I had ever seen a door made with that heavy plate.

Sounds like the trap by : David Brickman
I have a good many of them. Originally had several hundred.
I still use them as my 1st choice, for animals raccoon size and down.
They even made a 8 X 8 X 15 size for squirrels.
Brickman was sent to prison and the company shut down.

* Why someone doesn't continue making them, I have no idea. Best cage trap out there, IMO.

That’s too bad. They certainly are made well.

This trap was called the beast master. Arguably the best coon door made on a box trap.the weak link was always in the door and the coon would break out but not in this one they could tip it over too and not escape the Beastmaster grin the only thing I never liked was to open the door you have to push down on that little bar and pinch your fingers…..[Linked Image]
