Any couches in them shacks ??? A friend of mine has a couch in his shack. Also has a little cook stove and a bucket with a drop chute to crap in. He eats, sleeps, and takes work calls in the shack. He doesn't leave until he kills a deer.

Now looks boring......jk Lots of folks around here still hunt this correct way. keeps getting harder with all these shacks and people in trees to get a drive in. you walk past and they feel like you ruined their entire day of hiding from their wife. can you call it hunting when they see 3 deer for the week because no one has them moving during the day after opening mornings few minutes of gun fire?
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Some people "any deer" hunt.
Others are hunting for a specific buck or a good one.
Boring = quiet solitude!

169 user, I'm replacing with the rotomolded bank blinds They should last a couple generations.
I got the local guy to spray foam the inside. Heat it with a proverbial candle. We hunt deer in temps that would shut states down and I like to sit all day for days on end.

We hunt deer in temps that would shut states down and I like to sit all day for days on end. I am the same way, I like to hunt all day. I have shot most of my good bucks from 10-2 while most people aren't on their stands. I wish I could use those molded blinds but I can't get them to where they need to go, let alone the machinery needed to get them up in the air. Most years I can't even get a 4 wheeler back there if I shoot a deer, it is just too wet but the big bucks like that heavy bedding cover and there is no way to sneak up on them. You can't see 6 feet in most of this area. I typically try to mow the shooting lanes around Thanksgiving when there is ice but not a lot of snow.
I have nothing clever to put here.

As I've got older I've got lower when rifle hunting. I used to think that a tall tower/box blind was the only way. Now, about waist high works perfectly for these type stands. I like to be able to see if a rattler or cottonmouth is coiled underneath or I'd put 'em flat on the ground.
Btw..I continue to use Summit climbers when bowhunting.

![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2026/06/full-55493-295411-img_0764.jpeg) Just a few week’s ago before I had surgery I was able to get my new one up.The Roof was put on a couple days later.I was setting in the ladder stand for the last 6 years. I still have to finish up when I get back on my feet.This was a Job all but the roof I done by myself.. Nice Slipknot! I need 4 like that right now, but only about 4 or 5 feet off the ground...set up to look down long, planted shooting lanes thru the pines.
