Maybe entitlement of the people and corruption of our government. I think participation awards are starting to bear fruit. Hard work and honest success is not praised anymore

Lack of responsibility pretty much covers the rest of the responses...

We are letting things happen that we know are wrong and detrimental to our well being, but not stopping it.

I can't count the number of times I've heard folks say, well if they try that, we'll rise up and stop it. But "we" don't, and the cycle continues.

We are the proverbial frog, and "we" are the problem.

2 trillion deficit and 1 Trillion interest payment. Interest will soon be bigger than discretionary budget.

Just think the entire discretionary budget is covered by that 2 trillion in borrowing this year,

Government expansion

I believe there are many things of which only one could do the deed if enough people fell into the trap

The me before any one else syndrome
The lack of wanting or learning to work for your needs
The absolute lack of responsibility for many things, which goes hand in hand to the me syndrome
Continued arguing about who is who in the country instead of all being part of it, not talking about illegals !
A lack of our congress and government to keep funding those in our country needing it instead of sending it out
to other countries to support them
The debt of this country will one day just shut everything down, we then will be the same as a third world country

A biggy, total lack of law abiding people thinking they can do what they want and when ever, then complaining when they get caught, tying up courts for false verdicts and or freedom to go out and do it again

The continued debate about color in the country, seems at any one time this could just blow up

Most of these we already sit on the edge as it is !

American culture = antonymy and responsibility for yourself and your family and to provide for your representative republic

Disregard for the rule of law = lack of responsibility any law based in safe ad responsible actions would almost not be needed if people took complete responsibility , most laws have grounds in training people what it is t be responsible for their actions or the consequences for their actions.

Government expansion = lack of responsibility on the part of the voter and representative

they set up a system that treats debt as an asset it is just bad math doomed to fail at some point.
