To retire early if you can.

Took Mom and Dad to the beach today because they didn’t think they would ever be able to go again. We didn’t think he was going to make it through the month of November last year.

He is 90, she is 85.



My son just texted me and asked if I could pick up the grandson from daycare this week.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, a guy called and asked if I could stop by and punch in a couple fox sets at his place because one is raiding his chicken coops.

I recommend making a living doing something you very much enjoy, if you can too. Retiring early enough to enjoy it makes great sense, if you can afford it. Most people put up with to much crap.

I agree with Keith C If you can make a living wage doing what you enjoy then it never really is "work". For myself, due to kidney failure nad all that goes with it, the amount of time I can phyiscally work is rather limited. I have always enjoyed making things, it's really what keeps me going . I decided with my remaining time to do the type of work that requires my absolute best effort. I will do restoration on antique guns with the main focus on English shotguns that are top of the line but have damascus barrels. I plan to repace those with fluid teel barrels and rifle the last couple inches to make the Paradox guns That H & H made back in the day. Also my bird carving , basically my strongest work so I can really get lost in it.

And I myself always planed to retire "early" at 56, unfortunately my body and neurologist seem to have different ideas. Being limited on what my body let's me do even when my mind thinks I can still do everything is geting to me. Along with thinking about all the things I have wanted to do but probably cant now( back country elk) So I have now been thinking about thing I I can do that I have always wanted to. Making good wine is one of them. Tomorrow afternoon I think in going to make a trip to a wine and beer making suply store in Louisville if my wife or son wants to drive.( I have not been comfortable driving lately with how my right leg, left arm and ataxia as well as fatigue Has been randomly fairing up. Never knowing what to expect or when can get frustrating.

Your work/ carving is Incredible and jingle love how you focuse on something you enjoy and can do instead of the negative and things you cant.
