Our herd, which shares a fence with Sybille where cwd originated in Wyoming, has lower infections rates than right across the road. G&F is thinking that maybe they are spreading the genetic traits to resist it. They have some elk and deer in their pens with the 225F allele that have lives a pretty long life negative for cwd.

Maybe nature is finding a way to survive.....

From what I've learned (so far) is that there is no such thing as immunity to CWD in deer. But, there is a genetic trait discovered that indicates some deer take longer (more years in age) for physical systems or death to show/occur.....meaning there is more potential to spread the disease by that deer in it's lifetime.

I'm not well educated on CWD genetic research. What little I know about this came from speaking with Georgia's head deer biologist a few months ago.
