im slowly winning without traps so far but have decided to buy a couple 330 traps but have question , i do not want to harm the deer , are these ok for around deer population , not worried about mink or fishercats that would be a bonus , just do not want to harm a deer crossing the creek where they keep trying to rebuild

In all my years of setting 330’s in water I’ve never caught a deer.

thanks for the quick reply , the areas i will be setting are past dams that i have won the war , and they still try to start a new dam , so shallow and the winter melt has washed the silt that collected from being damed down stream , sshallow and not a mushy creek bed , and small creek once again

the creek is a lazy windy creek that naturally steps every so often and thats where they like to build and that also where the deer cross , fresh deer print daily , the deer on my place do not even run when they see me and the dogs ,they watch but do not take off , they eat the corn i throw out for the ducks ,geese and chickens year round

i was walking the dogs tonight in the back field and they started at a new dam again , the large dam about 300 foot across is on the other side of the property line and they do not allow me to control them there , so far the dogs and rifle i bag several a year

I wouldn't worry about it. I have never heard of it happening. I would imagine, with most 330s, they'd probably just pull out if it did. I WOULD worry about your dogs. Make sure you keep them penned up or on a leash.

Your dogs are killing them? Be sure to check your state regulations. Here 330's need to be submerged at least half way. If your water is shallow you may not have enough to make legal sets. Follow the laws, ALWAYS.

I have nothing clever to put here.

If you've never handled a 330...they pose more of a risk to you than they do to the deer.

330's I wouldn't worry about either but snares would be a different story.
