Lets make this law.

I personally would like to see a law made (Starting July 4th, 2027) that all American flags MUST be 100% made in the USA. Just like the All-American Flag Act. (Look it up).
This should be a no brainer for American law makers. If there is just one law maker who would vote no on this, send him or her out of their elected position.
I am a Veteran, and the flag means something to me, as it should to every person who calls themselves an American.
I will send this to a few folks in Congress.

The reason I made this post was, I was at a gas station and there was a American flag on the pump. A small tag on the flag said "Made in China". If we are buying American flags, I personally (Me) feel they should ALL be made in the great old USA. I am not taking anyone's choice away. If you want to buy a flag made in China, go to China and buy one.

As long as people are flying the flag I can't complain, be nice if it was American made but that goes for a lot of things....

BigJoe,

Personally, I purchase a brand new Gadsden flag, and an American flag every year for my front yard flag pole.

And both must be 100% made in the USA.

I never settle, I get what I want.

No china crap or me!

There is a law regarding the flags being made in the USA, but applies to the government only.

All-American Flag Act Overview:

The All-American Flag Act is a significant piece of legislation that mandates all American flags purchased by the U.S. government to be produced entirely with American-made materials and manufactured within the United States.
This law was enacted on July 30, 2024.

Key Provisions
100% American-Made Requirement:
The act requires that flags must be made from materials that are entirely sourced and manufactured in the U.S.
Previous Standards: Before this act, the federal government was allowed to purchase flags made with at least 50% American-made materials.
Exceptions: There are exceptions to this rule if flags of satisfactory quality and sufficient quantity cannot be procured at market prices.

Some politicians would just create a loophole, where if a single thread, or the packaging was added in America, the whole flag counted as American, similar to what they do with meat.

I have a friend in SC who owns a textile mill. He has been producing fabric for American flags all year long. Someone else sews the flags. The sewing operation cannot keep up with consumer demand.

I mean .... Sound like similar laws that they have in places like NK .
Does patriotism mean anything if it's forced under law ?

Anytime you are using a law to restrict someone's behavior that is removing their choice and freedom.. period.

I also cant stand seeing American flags made in China. But a desire for more laws and restrictions on what people can do is always less freedom.

I dont think your looking past serface level emotions on this.

Ok patriotism is at a low these days. I like seeing flags in people's yards and homes. Maybe your law and have flags prices triple or more in price and less people will spend money to have a (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) to fly at there home. So even les patriotism. You will be directly shooting yourself in the foot for some feel good emotions.

Think the disabled vet with limited income that wants a flag in his yard. You may have just priced him out if it or put a financial hard ship on them to obtain an expensive made in US flag.
I promise when I put up my flag pole up I think it was either made in canada or chinia I cant remember. I believe it was $120 or so way back then. I promise you had it been priced at made in Americia price I would not have ever bought and put up a flag pole. So champion laws (laws=restrictions=< less freedom always) that are just elimination of free choice and American freedom. And see the direct result of unintended consequences less people flying Flags. While pounding on your chest made in the USA only.
