Decided to give one of these off Amazon a try. So far like it pretty well probably shot a good 500 of these 15ga rings and not a issue yet. . Wire to wire , wire to 1/4 wire to 5/16

Threw together a half dozen minnow traps and transport cages for the wife to sell at the farmers market in 1/4 the time it takes doing it by hand grin ow if the metal supply will hurry up and get some more 1/4" rod in

The 3/4 rings will be a little loose on 16 and 14 gauge wire, and that annoys me, lol the 1/2 inch will be tight....the 3/4 rings shine with 12.5 gauge wire or with a rod between the wires
some ring guns can be adjusted a little to tighten the ring. I don't know if that one can....

Keep the gun well lubricated, and occasionally WD the mechanism to remove gum from the tape holding the rings together....

How many of us have ever put real hog rings into the nose of a real hog? There were two types I know of. The little triangle rings around the rim of the nose........and the BIG cross bar type in the septum. It was to keep them from rooting........especially under fences. Mostly the sows cause the pigs mostly had their nose in the feeder.......where it belonged.

I can imagine guys started out wiring traps together......until somebody remembered the little triangle types and put them to good use.
