ABEARDEDTRAPPER wins. I was putting up some Hardie panels, stumbled on the edge of a board. Long story short, treat a nail gun like a real gun. I kept my finger on the trigger. Didn’t really realize it hurt as bad as it did, until the ER doc pulled it out with a pair of pliers. He did apologize it took two pulls.

Look on the bright side, it doesn't seem to be a ribbed nail and looks like it missed any bones !!
Neat pictures for safety talks though !! Ring shank. Went right through the meta-tarsal below my pinky finger. I had a glove on. As Soon As It Happened, I thought, I know I just didn’t do this. I can just yank the glove and It will come right out.WRONG! I yanked the glove and nail was still there. Called the wife and told her to meet me at the ER. I made it half way and called her to come get me. I’m not saying it didn’t hurt, but not like you would think. I passed out while in the ER? Doc is treating like a broken bone. Now I’m trying to get the nerve to go finish the siding job because I’m too cheap to pay some one. Go back to work Monday on light duty.

There is still a small piece of the wire that connects the nails in the hand. The Doc is going to leave it for now.

Dang Scout, that looks painful.
I've been using pneumatic nailers for forty-plus years and have managed to shoot myself twice. Both times the nails hits knots and went where hey weren't supposed to, into my hands.
How the heck did that happen? Did you somehow slap the gun hard enough with your left hand to depress the nose allowing it to fire after you stumbled? I'm just trying to visualize how this happened.
Eh...wot?
