^^^Yes, I do get it. When we have legislators and governors that work out their personal vendettas against science based wildlife management we all are in deep trouble. It's happening all around us. Oregon is actually fortunate to have been able to defeat at least some of these efforts and keep trapping more or less as it has been for a long time. We look north and south and those states have not fared well. Then why do you keep voting for it??????????? You're pretty sure of your facts are you?

Put it this way, I did not vote for our current governor and will not be voting for her this time around either. But if the republican challenger is in complete lockstep with "you know who" I could not support that either.

But I did vote for him and would again if the election were today because what matters most is court appointments, and he's done splendidly in that department.

To me the state is a total loss. Oregon is next in line.

You do know any Republican gets a list from Federalist Society? Charles Koch of the famous Koch brothers. I say famous, cause I like them. "McConnell’s mission Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky has made confirming conservative judges his singular focus. In 2018 he described his goal at a gala of the Federalist Society, the four-decades-old legal network that’s become the pipeline for Republican judicial appointees: It’s “to do everything we can, for as long as we can, to transform the federal judiciary, because everything else we do is transitory.”" Time.

I'm curious to what parts of a cage-trapping-only-state have it better than one that is not? I can guess that some of our recent trials and tribulations about closed areas for beaver trapping and marten trapping must be part of that. No matter what, it is obvious that we all are under attack. Yes, I can trap beaver anyplace in the State. No bag limits on bobcat and after using cages for a lot of years now I don't consider them the hindrance that those with less experience do. I felt it was the end of trapping at one time but not so much anymore. You are right, we are all under attack. We are fighting some things right now. We all need to keep vigilant.

I hear what you're saying Bruce. My thinking is how the heck can I navigate the Siletz river with enough cage traps to make a decent daily beaver catch?

Interesting, dirt! If you have something specific to say...... then say it!! I do not have the bandwidth to disentangle your riddles!!! The meaning behind his quotes can be confusing. In his first sentence maybe he's saying that Trump simply picked jurists from a list provided to him by the Federalist Society which is not a bad thing at all. I know the Society vetted Trump's list of SCOTUS nominees. And of course Charles Koch gets the list, that's the least the Society can do in return for the massive donations they receive from Koch Industries (I like the Koch bros to). As for the quote about McConnell's mission...if you figure out a hidden meaning there...let us know.
Eh...wot?

I find it interesting that the governor appointed THREE new commissioners for this meeting and NONE of them have been approved yet. But they were still allowed to present new proposals and be the deciding votes. What if the Senate doesn't approve them? Will these new regulations they passed still stand? I'm assuming they will, but I'm not so sure they legally should. That's an interesting point. I bet a trapping organization concerning enough to fund a legal challenge to these new regulations could have them stayed and potentially reversed.
Eh...wot?

BRUCE Yes we can trap beaver anywhere in the state BUt when the beaver relocators, that WSTA joined forces with, (half azzed endorsed@ your recommendation) get in your face and spring your traps because they relocated beaver to that area, can't really call that a win for trapping.
