Don’t set it next to anything you don’t want ate. They will come from a distance to get to the trap which will increase the numbers of beetles in the area from before you set the trap. I finally installed a trash bad instead of the little bags provided.

Wonder if they would make a good trap bait. Many animals eat bugs when available.

They are very prolific at breeding...I noticed that right away.

For past several days, we have had 3 coon kits in yard grazing on something in the lawn around the house, and as near as I can tell it's japanese beetles. They come in an hour or so before dusk and were still at it this morning until 8:30 AM. I'm guessing they are orphans and are on their own.

Best plan for those traps is put them far, far away on a sacrificial tree you won't mind getting destroyed.

Good if you have chickens.

The bull heads in the ponds like the beetles and we empty it quite often

That trap will attract beetles from places near and far. If you thought you had a problem before the trap, you’re going to wish you never set it. They are going to show up in unimaginable numbers. You’d be better off telling the guy down the road how good the trap works and convincing him he needs yours.

Same thing happens with liquid fly traps.
