He might lose his plane for bringing a guy to a village using that aircraft. The village is a dry village by law I guess and the guy had some booze in his bag and it was discovered.

This happened a few years ago and thankfully has now made it to the SCOTUS. There is not a lot of case law on the "excisive fines" issue.
Will be intetesting.

It is obvious that the woman.......his passenger..........had the INTENT to violate the law by importing alcohol into Beaver. It is also pretty easy to conclude that Ken KNEW there was alcohol on board because some of it was in plain view.

BUT............the plane never left the ground so the actual "importing" charge is moot.

My question is why did AST have any reason to search that plane ? Did someone tip them off ? Was someone setting up Jouppi ? What was the PC for the search ?

I have seen people refused entry into a plane because they were under the influence, but I have never seen a private aircraft searched by anyone ever.

The seizure of the plane seems way out of proportion to the infraction...IMO.

Would AST have a legitimate reason to confiscate my rifle before hand....if they suspected that I INTENDED to shoot a sub-legal animal but never actually did ?
