You're seeing the fundamentals right. TSLA is insanely overvalued. All speculation.

From what I see id think IBM would be a fundamentally better bet if you were trying to profit from a huge over correction after it has fallen 32% from its 52 week high. But again im new at this and didnt have enough experience to feel confident to make that play. Maybe still not to late to take a position on its dips.

IBM will, likely, not exist in 10 years. I wouldn't drop a dime on them.

I bought a few shares of Tesla before the stock splits and sold enough to recover my original investment and then some. I'm gambling with the house's money now. I would also be interested in a discussion on Big Blue. White?

Well, I am certainly no White..... but I think if IBM accomplishes their stated goal of reaching large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computing by 2029 that certainly could be pretty big, especially if no one else beats them to it.

And then there is the fact that just last month they were the first semiconductor company to reveal a chip that was sub-1 nanometers, which many thought was not possible. That greatly increased the chips' memory capacity and also created a roadmap for shrinking chips even further. A pretty dang important component of AI, imo.

I wouldn't count IBM out!!

I don't have a good feeling about Big Blue either but they make take longer than 10 years to die. Look how long Sears managed to hold on.
I am not enamored with technical indicators but......it was just about exactly two years ago that IBM managed to punch through the 200 level which had acted as resistance for quite a while. Looks like there is a good chance they may break below that again.

On the fundamental level I think they are burdened with debt that could become an issue if market rates rise and they have to roll over some short term debt at higher rates. Their current ratio, quick ratio, and cash ratio all stink IMO........

The P/E and net margin are "ok" at this point but they seem to have lost the plot as far as the whole tech world is concerned. They pretty much depend on selling hardware and software to clients and financing that sale through the finance
arm of the business.

I think they are way behind the curve on AI and I think there are a lot of opportunities for other companies using AI to cannibalize IBM market share.
They remind me of INTC & CSCO back in 1997-2000. Just laying back thinking their reputation will carry them for years. I don't think that will happen.
Maybe if they spin off some portions of the business or hire different leadership willing to go another direction...........they might do better.

But for right now I agree with Keck. I would not take a long position. If you want to trade it I would do so with short puts and pay close attention.

Just my 2 cents
