So we made it to 99.9 today and my wife wanted to cook sour dough bread and said she was thinking about doing it out in the fire ring. I said good idea, we don't really need the oven on to heat up the house. I ask her how hot she baked the bread she said 425. I looked it up and it said 14 briquettes under and 24 on top for a 14 inch dutch oven. So went went out and started some charcoal. For her first go at cooking bread in a dutch oven I think it was a 100% success. I grilled some rib eyes on a wood fire to go with the bread.

This is a-nother level of bread baking. I always enjoyed the Dutch oven and first started cooking in one around 40 years ago. It was my wife's first attempt at bread. I was coaching her and I think it came out real good. Next time is all wood coal which you have to guess more how much to use. You can find charts on line that tell you how many briquettes to use according to the size of the Dutch oven and what temp you want. Thanks all.

That needs a little honey butter and you're good to go.
