Has anyone read We Few or Whispers in the Tall Grass about the Mac V SOG soldiers during the Vietnam War? What did you think of the books?

I've not read them. I heard an audio excerpt but now there is a pay wall.

I looked, no paperback version. Tough to pay $20+ for hard cover.

I haven’t read them, but I did look at some reviews because I was thinking about ordering them. Both books get mixed reviews, mostly due to his writing style.

Some folks thought they were pretty good books, but a lot of folks did not.

There were enough credible negative reviews that I decided not to order.

Eh...wot?

Thanks Lugnut. In the short previews I listened to I could tell his style was a little odd and am not surprised that some don't appreciate it much.

I read books on Amazon Kindle and there both on that. I ordered "We Few" in and I will read that one first. There is some Nam books out there that were written by someone who sits in a VFW and hears stories then goes home and writes a book. Most Nam books are decent IF written by men who were really out in the boonies.

You can hear him talk about his MAC V SOG experience on Youtube

Yeah I listened to Shawn Ryan interview him and that is what got me interested in the first place.
