BTW considering the recent foreign source manufactured disease outbreak it would not surprise me in the least if this isn't similar in origin and intent brought to us by the exact same persuation of people to serve their own political ends.

It aint hard to grow your own produce. Doesn't take a lot of ground either.

Those Mexicans that do farm work here do it because it pays better than Mexican farm work and in Mexico there is no welfare. If they can live on farm wages so can welfare recipients

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Right now eating some wonderful flathead cherries I buy from a local orchard or are a gift.
Some things I have eaten in the last month:

blueberries and strawberries from California, local grown strawberries from a u pick, carrots and eggs from the hutterites, walla walla onions from Washington. sweet corn from Idaho, Hermiston watermelon.Fresh sourdough from a local bakery.Double smoking a ham today from montana.Local made summer sausage.

I am not feeling a bit sick and the food is delicious.

I don't doubt BP's explanation but I don't agree that importing illegal workers is a good solution. There have been legal guest-worker programs like the Bracero Program in the past and I have brought this up to BP as a possible alternative before but he has never responded to me, I can only presume because he is beholden to the cause of importing illegal workers.

I have posted this before. For what it's worth most people collecting welfare have jobs. Maybe when their other job ends for the day they can drive out to a farm and pick produce?

Ya, I just had to fire one because he couldn't show up on time, work the days he was supposed to or stay off his phone. He worked really well for the first week before he got paid...

Most small farms (like me) would have a hard time coming up with the approved on-farm housing requirements. Not to speak of the complicated application process. That said I am looking into it once again. The program is really geared to big farms that have housing.
