For water sets.. ABSOLUTELY!! In fact I use PVC for 40 percent of my beaver sets

Drive a section of white PVC into the bank and place a trap in the water up close to the pipe. Dry land sets do the same thing.

I never placed a section of PVC out in the water. I never figured it was worth the effort when I can use the bank as backing. And the coon is already working the bank.

I prefer to not have all my gear stolen so isnt my typical approach

I use Grey 1" pvc electrical conduit in crick banks. Not visible like white but still a good lure and bait holder in certain sets

I've messed with them a little. They work, but don't think its worth the extra effort when a pocket will do.

They work ok, a pocket I think is better, coon are good with steal the bait at PVC pipe, paste bait

I use the hot water pvc pipe. It’s probably 1/2 inch. A coon cant get his paw in it to steal any bait. I drive them in flush with the ground and cover with duff. It works well for me in wet weather.

Pipe works fine in flat picked bean fields here for coyotes. I used larger diameter pipe than the gray electrical stuff. A smear of bait in the pipe and it works well in late winter here. I pained some of my pipes black and some red to help them stick out a little more especially after a fresh snow.
I know Zag always said the set was never about the pipe but I never used his bedding technique at all I just use waxed dirt, so for me it was all about the pipe. I needed a little eye appeal in certain locations.
I always carry some short lengths of pipe in my predator buckets in winter setting. Dirtholes fill with snow. Pipes seem to help me keep the bait up a bit and give me eye appeal.
