A 24 year wacko opened fire yesterday on the outside of a fast food restaurant in Twin Falls, ID killing two people and wounding 7 including two critically. An armed citizen with a handgun and suppressor on it and off duty State Trooper fired back at the shooter making him retreat back from the restaurant behind a car. the armed citizen said the killer looked surprised that people were shooting back at him. The Chief of Police and Sheriff had high praise for the citizen and off duty trooper saying it prevented the shooter from going into the restaurant causing more mass casualties. The shooter then took his own life. They are already selling tee shirts with a print of an outline of the citizen firing at the shooter saying “Idaho shoots back.”

Did it make the news in a positive way?

From what I read, it did. Although some Liberals said he should have waited to the police arrived. They must think an off duty cop who also shot back isn’t considered police.

WPXI tv11 did short positive interview at 6.

There have been reports that the off duty officer did not even draw his weapon for fear that responding officers would mistake him for the shooter.

This is why I posted back about wanting a full sized handgun for Conceal carry at church events. Theres the potential at some of these events to be 100+ yards from some physco with a rifle, last thing you want is a pocket gun in that scenario.

Problem was, guy wasn't just standing there.
He was shooting back.
With a rifle.
Two way range at that point, and one guy had a huge advantage.

5.7 is a fast hard-hitting round. I have 20 round mags in my Diamondback DBX. Great backpack gun for such an occasion.
