I remember reading a few times , in the older trapping mags from the 40s and earlier… about a bacon and honey concoction to use as an attractant.
I have never tried it,,, but for some reason.. as I was pouring the bacon grease out of the skillet this morning… that popped into my head.

Any of you guys ever tried it??
If so, any degree of success??
It’s a curiosity thing right now for me.
Might make up a batch this year to play around with.

yes we use the bacon grease and the fat pieces of bacon in the 90's. we would target fox and coons and had ok luck. and yes lots of possums as well normally make 2 sets on for the possum and the next for target lol ol possum is fast lol.
I have actually had good luck through the years with bue cheese crumbles on fox as well.

Great lure, I add beaver castor to it. Around SE PA our reds work just about any bait readily.

If it is the one, it’s a winner! I put it head-to-head without picking & choosing locations with Junes Widowmaker with very good records and it pushed WidowMaker right off my line!!!! LOL I will admit I added 4oz of O’Gorman’s Old Bucks Death to the volume of bait in the recipe. When the OBD worked so well I than added O’Gorman’s OLL-CC two years later and my fall coyotes loved it !
